ioners met pursuant to adjournment;.
Members all present.
Now conies N. L. Fitzgerald, Trustee
and Erviug Collins from Logan pre
cinct' Kansas to confer with the Board
of Webster County, in regard to build
ing a bridge ou stato line between
Kansas and Nebraska, on south lino of
Line precinct at the- South East Corner
of Section H3, Town 1, Range 11, Web
tcr County, Nebraska. Thereupon it
was moved and seconded that the
Chairman appoint n Committee to con
for with a like Committee from Logan
Precinct Kansas to determine upon
home plan or kind of bridge to build
aud the motion carried, nud thereupon
the chairman appointed the following
named Commissioners, G. W. Hummell
nndJ.G. Overman of Commissioner
District No. 3, as a committee to meet
with said committee from Logan Pre
cinct, Kas., and report forthwith.
Now comos C. It. Besso and inukes
complaint that he was assessed on laud
belonging to the right of way of the
railroad company which is a double
assessment on said land and requests
the Board to refund him the amount
paid on said double assessment. No
action taken on foregoing complaint.
Ou motion the claim of John
Koenchy, $25 for one month' labor on
I'oor Farm for the month of March
1010 was allowed and the clerk was In
structed to draw warrant ou Poor
Farm Fund in payment of same.
Now comes Mr. Anderson from Line
Precinct and makes complaint that, ho
was erroneously assessed on part north
west quarter section 15-1-11 and re

Bladen, Nebr., be approved. Motion

In the matter of tho Petition from
Franklin County of Carl Scharff, D. L.
Leonard and others asking that the
road on county line lying west of tho
north.west quarter of section 30, and
tho south west quarter of section 10
all in towu 2, range 12, Webster Coun
ty, Nebr., have the immodiate attent
ion of the Webster County Board. It
was moved and seconded that said
petition bo referred to G. W. Hummoll
Commissioner of Commissioner District
No. 3, Webster County, Nebr. Motion
carried.
In the matter of tho School tax in
district 84 aud CO it appearing that
Dirk Hoppen was transferred from
School District 84 to District 00 nud
not having been assessed in School
District No. 00, in compliance with his
transfer for tho year 1009, but was as
sessed in School district No. 84, in-

On motion board adjourned to meet
April 14, 1910.
April 14, 1910. Board met pursuant
to adjournment. Members all present.
In the matter of tho bridge work, it
appearing that certain plans on said
bridge not having arrived from the
state engineer as ordered, it was mov
ed and seconded that said work be tak
en up on arrival of said plan. Carried.
Moved and seconded that tho claim
for $67.55 of A. C. Slaby for harness
and repairing and furnishing tho poor
farm, be allowed and tho clerk bo and
is hereby instructed to draw warrant
on the poor farm fund, in payment of
same. Carried.
Now comes John Crans and Sam Foo
before the board and asks to have a
committee appointed to investigate the
ei milo of road running east and west
on the north side of said road between
sections two and eleven, town one,
range oleven, to determine the advisa
bility of opening a ditch to carry away
surplus water, thereupon the chairman
appointed the following named commis
sioners: J. G. Overman, L. Schmidt,
G. Ohmstede and G. W. Hummell ns a
committee to investigate said ditch.
Now como said committee before the
board and state that after investigat
ing said road they find same to be under
the control of the city of Red Cloud.
Moved and seconded that the claim
for $123.18 of Piatt & Freeze for wire,
posts and coal furnished the poor farm
be allowed and the clerk instructed to
draw warrant on tho poor farm fund in
payment of same. Carried.
The chairmen appointed G. Ohmstedo
L. Schmidt and T. J. Chaplin, as a com
mittee to invest'gate road in Pleasant
Hill precinct, over which the mail route
runs and is in very bad condition.
On motion board adjourned to meet
April 15, 1910.
Red Cloud, April 15, 1910
Board met persuant to adjournment.
Members all present.
We, your committee, appointed to
meet as a bridge committee with like
committee from Logan township, Smith
County, Kansas, in regard to building a
bridge on said stato lino at the so corner
of section 33, town 1, range 11, recom
mend that a bridge 36 feet long, com
posed of steel and concrete, to be paid
for by Smith county, Kansas, and Web
ster county, Neb., each to pay one-half
of all expenses connected with tho
building of said bridge. Respectfully
submitted, G. W. Hummel and J. G.
Overman, committee.
Moved and seconded that said report
be approved. Carried.
We, your committee, appointed to in
vestigate road in Pleasant Hill precinct
ooiween sections za ana zi, town z,
range 10, And said road to be in bad con
dition, and Is impractable to rapair said
road and advise board to change said
road to run around bend in creek at
this point and secure a good road. Re
spectfully submitted, G. Ohmstede, L.
Schmidt, T. J. Chaplin, committee.
Moved and seconded that tho foregoing
report be approved. Motion carried.
Motion made and Beconded that tho
plans heretofore adopted, for bridgo
work, not being of tha desired width,
be reconsidered and said plans rejected.
Motion carried.
Motion made and seconded that the
board adopt a six foot concrete plan
for singlo or double culvert. Motion
carried.
Motion made and seconded that the
board adopt the 18 foot span, one beam
bridge plan. Carried.
Motion made nnd seconded that the
board adopt tho 36 foot span, one beam
bridge plan. Carried.
Motion made and seconded that T. J.
Chaplin bo and is hereby instructed and
authorized to build a concrete ford 16
feet, across Sand creek on ono fourth
quarter section line road, in section 12,
town two, range 10. Carried.
Motion made and seconded that the
clerk be and is hereby authorized to
advertise for sealed bids on concrete
work per cubic foot, county to furnish
all material. Said bids must be on fllo
in tho clerk's ofllce on or before 12
o'clock, noon, May 24, 1910, and the
board reserves the right to reject any
and all bids. Carried.
On metion the board adjourned to
meet May 24th, A. D. 1910.
