Passed Away.
Mr. Iieartus Campbell died at hi
homo in Cowles Jan. !, WlO. Funeral
services were held at the house con
ducted by the minister of the Christ
iau church. He was burn in Wayne
County Pennsylvania in the year isJl
and died from attack of pneumonia at
tho aire of 0.' years i) months and 'J I
days. Mr. Cumpbell located on a
homestead in this country some thirty
odd yeais ago whore lie lived continu
ally till HkiG when ho moved to Cowles
to spend the remainder of his days.
He was ono of our pioneer settlers mid
was greatly esteemed by all who know
him. He served his country in tho
civil war from 18(H to 18(1:. and receiv
ed an honorable discharge. 'J lie re
mains were brought to this city Tues
day afternoon and was met by a large ,
number of old soldiers who joined in i
the funoral procession lo the cemetery.
Uev.Stiiller of the Methodist church
conducted the short ceremony at tho
grave. He leaves to mourn his loss a
wifo, two sons, and four daughters,
two brothers mid two sisteis besides u
host of friends.
