County Attorney Rlackledge has re ceived an opinion from the attorney general's otliee to the effect that the proposition to levy a special tax to build a new court house can be voted upon at the regular November elec tion, and Captain Houchiu is now cir culating a petition for the levy. It was at first feared that George Overing would not be ab,le to go on account of the teachers' Institute being In session, but he finally tore himself away. We understand that a project is on foot to furnish electric light for all of the towns between Alma and Red Cloud by the plants at those two places. This would give the town lights with- out the expense of putting in plants nnd keeping up the expenses. It looks very feasible on the face of the propo sition. Rloomington Advocate. The changes in the time of trains which went into effect last Sunday are not so radical as It was at first thought they would be. No. 11, which takes the place of No. 13, Is now due to arrive at 7:10 a. m.; No. 14 at 1:50 a. in.; No. 15 at 8:30 p. in., and No. 10 at 9:30 a. in. Owing to the late ar rival of No. 15, the evening mail will not be distributed until the following morning. Saturday evening when train No. 15 pulled Into Red Cloud one coach was "set out" owing to there being four "dagoes" in the car whom it was thought had small-pox. Three of the foreigners were linally allowed to pro ceed on their way to Salt Lake City and the fourth was taken to the pest house near the rl'er.
