olutions upon the death of Jerome
Vance, who died at Ouide Rock last
Sunday and was buried Tuesday:

governor. It was here that the plan
was hutched up and promulgated to
the world. The occasion was that of
the State Bncainpmcnt of the 0. A. R.,
and the matter was thoroughly dis
cussed and his 11111113' soldier friend-
decided to make the eminent general,
Governor of Nebraska, if possible, ami
they succeeded nobly and to the glory
of the state.
