When it came time to return home the wheels of their wagon were missing and they had to "hoof the two and a half miles into town. We have received from Secretary of State Galusha a duplicate express re ceipt showing that the sample ballots were shipped to the county clerks on the 20th of October. The law pro vides that the sample ballots shall not be sent out before midnight of the 21st; as that date fell on Sunday, they were sent out a day earlier. An enthusiastic rally is planned to take place next Sunday at the Chris tian church in the interest of the Sunday school. Dr. E. A. Thomas and Prof. Dietrick, prominent Sunday school workers, and Rev. Davis will give brief ialks. Warren returned from Red Oak, la., the first of the week, where he had gone in search of his son Carl, who'left home last Thursday morning without informing his folks where he was going, but it was learned at the depot here that he had purchased a ticket for Red Oak. Mr. Warren found that Carl had reached Red Oak, but had left before his father's arrival. Carl had had no trouble at home, and there was no cause for his leaving ex cept a desire to travel. Dr. W. S Smith, who has been prac ticing osteopathy here for the past two years, leaves next Wednesday for his home in Sterling, Col., where he will visit for a short time before going to his new location at Morgan, Texas. Dr. Smith has built up a good practice here, and has made many friends who will be sorry to learn of his decision to leave. His practice will be taken by Dr. Boles of Blue Hill, who is well known here, and who will bo especial ly welcome to the football squad. The Blue Hill Leader is knocking on the proposition for a new court house, and says if the citizens of Red Cloud want a now court house they should build it themselves. The Leader says that if the county seat is moved to Blue Hill they will build a court house and pay all the expenses of re moval. So would Guide Rock, or Ina vale, or Cowles, or Bladen, either of which towns would be as suitable for, county seat as would Blue Hill.
