Tho week was generally dry until tho
last two or three days when copious
rains wore gonoral in all parts of tho
stato excepting tho extreme northoaBtern
and southwestern portions. Over most
of tho southern part of tho state from
two to threo inohoa foil.
Tho dry weather early In tho week
was very favorablo in the progress of
corn planting and most of tho crop is
now in the ground. Some of tho oarly
pi anted is six inches high and much of
it has been workod.
Small grain, although it has sulTorod
somewhat from dry woathor in the wost
ern portion of the state, has gonorally
attained a tank growth and in Bono
cases has begun to lodge slightly; somo
rye is reportod six feet tall. Rye is gon
orally in blossom and wheat is beginning
to bloesom. Considerable damage is re
portod in somo localities from out worms
and in tho oxtremo southeastern corner
of the stato from tho army worm.

growing rapidly. Potato bugs very
thick. Wheat rustod some.
Chase High winds havo injured
small grain, and all crops havo Buffered
much from dry woathor.
Dundy Corn in Bandy lands damngod
by high winds. All email grain and
grass urying up. Corn looking fair.
Furnns Alfalfa cutting in full blunt,
and ii good yield. Potatnos in bloom
and bugs plenty. Squash bugs doing
snmo damago to vinos.
Hitchcock Weather hot and vegeta
tion suffered oarly in thoweok, but good
rain on Saturday.

Rhapo, wheat and oats coming forward
nicely; potatoes growing fast and potato
