Consumption is the destruction of lung-tissue by
germs where the lung is too weak to conquer them.
The remedy is strength vital force.
Scott's Emulsion, with hypophosphitcs, means the
adjustment of lung "strength to overcome germ-lire.
It is fighting the germ with the odds m our lavor.
These tiny 'little drops of iat-food make their way
into the system and re-fresh and rc-invigorate it.
Whether you succeed with it or not depends on how
tmod a start the germs had, and how carefully you can
live. The shortest way to health is the patient one.
The gain is often slow.

In memory nr Albert Werner.
A btautiful young lifo linn just van

Mr. Jno, Werner of Batin is only tho
repetition of that strange oxporionco to

Tho nioHsanger camo; Ho summoned,

Ill only a short timo, ho was suddenly
taken from uo with but littU warning;
but a fow weeks ngo ho came to school
with the bloom of health upon his

so hopeful, and bo full of promise; I
thought that lifo had something storod

future, but "doath had marked him for
his own;" h was ono of tho potH in our
school-room, nnd wo loved to have him
with uu, but Clod thought best to take
him and leave uu to pursuo life's studies
without him; ho was full of happy traits
and always has a kindly word and pleas
ant muilo for those mound him. How
oft ho sang with uu that beautiful hymn,
"When tho Roll is Called up Yondor,"
and repeated with ub tho Lord'u Prayer.
Tho sacriflco is hurd to muko, but let ub
remombor that he lias escaped that pain

which maturer age is heir.

As an avorajge of the wbolo country
thiH disturbance will bring less rain
and snow than the preceding storms
of tho month ana tho first disturbance
of February will be of the dry kind,
Headers may h.ivu overlooktd the
BigmfioHnoo of the terras cool wave
and cold wavo as used in these bul

formor is used for the warmest p.trt
ol' tho mouths aud the latter tsrtu for
the coldest part. All close observers
of tho weather hao noticed tliut tin
cobl or cold part of tho month cjiitin
ucs, not alwiijs, but usually from ten
to fourteen days and then is succeed
ed by a warmer period of asimilur
duration. I use the term oool wave
to designate thoao periods that aver
ago warm for about two wcoks and
cold wavo for tho corresponding cold
part ol tho month.
These periods do not run by mouth
and tho warm periods may cover part
of two months ni well be the cane
with tho last part of this and the first
part of next month, Tho cold poriod
alt.o sometiuiefl covers purt of two
months as will be the case with Jul)
and August of this year.
These cold and warm periods do
not occur in tho tamo part of the
month in two succeeding years and
theso ehanj.es cause the weather
problem to bo the most diilicult of all
tho problems with which the human
raco has to deal. It is tho riddle ol
the ages bcuauso the nun, menu and
planets each has a separate influence,
through magnetic Hues, an our
weather.
The tfl'orthas bcon to flud recursing
periods but this ih impossible because
tho total effect ( f planetary influence
vary as often as you can vary the re
lative positions of ten bodies of fig
ures. Thereforo recurring periods
cannot be found because tho suu,
moon and planets have not occupied
the same relative positions twice in
the historic times.
lu the next bulletin will be given a
