Firo Department gavo an cxocllont en-
tciUinment last Saturday night to the
peoplo of Red Cloud for tho ostenii
bio purposo of raising monoy to go to
Beatrioo. The oitizens of Red Cloud
donated to tho boys freely and when
tho night came for tho entertainment
thoy had what might bo turmed ''An
Old Curoiity Shop," as their gifts ran
from a windmill to a toothpiok. When
thoy couio to sell them tho bidding
was lively and each artiolo brought a
good prioc. Tho Oyster supper was
immooso and was well patronized.

tho Francis school house in district

Rock last Saturday. Tho program as

question was given its proper share of
attention. Somo excellent papers

Tho county board of supervisors, at
their last meeting, wisely ordered the
enlargement of the suporintondont's
office in tho court-houso by having
folding doors placed in the partition
botweon his room and the ono west of
it. This will make it much pleasanter
aid moro convenient o examination
days. All applicants for certificates
know that heretofore tho office has
been crowded greatly on tho day of
examination.
Tho stato apportionment has not
yet come. The delay is caused by a
county superintendent's neglect to
correot hit report to tho state super
intendent.
