take a pride in seeing that the trees

were totally demolished by the torna
do of Thursday evening last. Tho
Opera House block was unroofed, and
business houses damaged. No one
can judge of the desolation of such a
storm without seeing it for himself.
Two or three men were badly injured
but none killed. The people saw the
the storm in time to escape to their
cellars and eaves. One man saw a
hotse passing over his house of which
the roof was blown off.
