When dfoai oM age begin ? At forty-fira,
It in said, the amount of combustion which
keeps Uic furnace of the iiuman bodj in
Mastcommences to decrease and dimiuubet
tratil thrcc-ucorc rears and ten, more or
cm, -hen the fires arc drawn and the
flickering flame dies out. That is the
ldiT5io!ogical way of looking fit it. IJut
wmc men arc old before they are out o
their teens, while other apparently never
grow old, though they Jive to Imj centen
arians. The poet 3 way of looking at it in
the best:
'"Call him not old ttHosc visionary brain
Holds o'er the jasl its undivided reign.
;Forhifii in vain the envious seasons roll
Who bears eternal summer in his soul."
This at least seems to be the way in
which David Lit tell, of .t;um::tr, la., looks
at Jne, lor tlioti-'ii now in
bin eightieth
year nc lias lautn a new tease en me
and it apparently de'ermincd to hold on
to it. Aiiiioplioros did ii for Iiirn and be
acknowledges his debt to it in terms of
enthusiaui. Mr. Liltell tells his own story:
" 1 w: past seventy -seven and had been
' afflicted with rhcumatirm three years and
eight months. I had lost one-third of my
weight and could not walk, but .liuilk-d
along with crutches. Sleep had de.crted
me, my nerves wereail shuttered, and there
was no strength in my hands, wrist?, knees
or feet. I could not sit down or get up out
of a chair without help, and oh 1 such pain,
worse at uilit. than in the day. There was
neither bleep nor reM, and the outlook was
painful in the extreme.
"Hut thanks be to God and Brother
Inskip for sending me a paper containing
a notice of the cures made by Athlophoros
and thanks be to you for sending me a
bottle. It appears to me the hand of God
is in it all the way, and if you did not hear
me shout why then I did not shout loud
enough, that is all. The medicine arrived
one Saturday night after I had gone to bed.
In the morning my son prepared me a dose
of two tcaspoonfuls in milk. I took it and
felt it ut once all over. After that I took
but one teaspoonful at a time until I had
finished the bottle. How did it act? Why,
like a charm. On Monday morning I rose,
dressed, and walked out into the kitchen
without crutches or cane and wished thcia
ail a happy New Year.
t" My pain is all gone nnd I mt well.
My son, peeing such a gicat change in me,
wrote for ten bottles in order, as he says,
to make a permanent cure of it. It is all
more like a dreumlhan realitv. I have
written to four of ruv friends who arc
afflicted with rheumatism about the great
medicine and I hall write toother., and in
this way try to pay the debt of gratitude.
"Some fourteen months ago," says A.
Hayward, of Burlington, la., " I was at
tacked with iullammatory rheumatism. I
tried a dozen diflerent kinds of medicine
said to cure rheumatism, but to no pur
pose. Finally, I procured a bottle of
Athlophoros. After using the bottle it
did me so much good that I bought
another, but did not have to use more than
a third of the second bottle before I was
entirely cured. From that time up to the
present I have never had anything Iiko
rheumatic pains, acd I thank Athlophoros
for the cure."
Thomas McCtie, Bush's block, Dubuque,
la., whose wife was cured by Athlophoros
of a terrible case of rheumatism, declares
It was "truly a miracle in my wife's case."
