In accordance whh oor pretioos desigMi and intention, w wUh th'ta week to call the attention of oor readera to oee o( the moat tto'iriah ing banking houses in the weat, ami one too, which our citisna feel deely tnterrsled in. We refer to thf Suie Dans of Meu uiouo, organtzeu a nine over year ago by es-goveroor Garber of Xtbraska, Leri Moore, J. W. fc"her wood, L. P. Albright and It. V. Shirey, live of the prominent and uhUntlal citisene of this city, with an authoriz ed capita! of $50,000. As to how well they hare succeeded in ratahlbhing it on a solid basis, w have only to refer yon to their aworn statement at the close of busineafl, Octoiwr 6, which shows a deposit account of nearly 40,000, and the bank yet is tta infan cy comparatively. Whenjirat organised tbebank occu pied the Albright building weat of the Holland house, but after a brief aUy, the constantly increasing buiu gave evidence that new quarters would nare to be aecureu, aa ax aa expense of almost $20,000, jsiVuklsome and commodioiu builMas9rSi the corner of Main street and Fourth avenue was erected. To say the least it is one of the linest and most elaborately finished buaiueas bouses in the Republican valley, and a credit to the enterprising spirit that characterizes the btuiucju men of Red Cloud. A fine fire-proof vault is contained within its walln, along with all the latest improvement known to modern banking, including time lock, etc. Tho stockholders of this bank arc numlered among our wealthiest nnd mojt influential people, many of whom have redded in Welvster county, for year., and arc well-known through out the valley. Mr. Garber, one of the principal stockholders, was governor of Xcbncka, from 1S74 to 1878, and is well and favorably known in this and other state. Messrs. Moore, Jonca, Goble and Shirey, are all more or less known in this section of the State, and each have their various interests at suko in Red Cloud, and aro intent in seeing our city prosper and grow. The success of this banking house is beyond, a similiar comparison, aa tho rapid increase of business indicate, and now numleis aome of the best biitdne men in the city and county among it patrons. As security to its depositors each stockholder is individ ually liable to twice the amount of his stock, thus making the bank perfectly safe and reliable. Aside from this fact the names of tho men who are connected with tho bank, is a suffi cient guarantee of the permanaocy of tho institution. v , Since the bank Jwas first organized, Messrs. Sherwood and Albright have retired and embarked in. other enter prises, but with their retirement, others have taken their places, and tho same energy and zeal that has permeated tho management in the past will form a prominent feature isritt future career. Wo bespeak for the bank a generous patronage from the people of this part of Nebraska. Mr. Shifey, the affable and courteous cashier of this house, is a practical and thorough banker and business man, and we can recommend him to confidence of the people. Success to the enterprise. Si!CE our last issue we have talked with a number of people in reference to the reorganisation of Rett Cloud, from a village corporation to that of a city organisation of the second class. This could be easily done and the ad vantage and prestige we would gain, would more than compensate us for the change. As to the people spoken to en the subject, there seems to be only one sentiment and thai is ia fav or of the reorganisation. We hone the trustee will loot smnsi the matter ia the proper light end take the iaia tory stefM to complete the week. It certainly woaldte a boom for Bed Cloud.
