The majority of the Republican
Valley people are not favorable to Pad
dock. This from tbe Culbertsoo Globe
is a sample ot the criticise which Alger
non S. gets in thu section and expresses
completely the trouble with the honorable
gentle bud:
Although rather early ia the season
yet there are quite a number of senatorial
candidates in the field, and every day the
"boom" of Algernon grows fainter as it
wends its way to the "back seat," pre
pared by tbe people, for the accommo
dation of those who bare been weighed
in the balance and found wanting. Tbe
fact is, Nebraska made a great mistake
when she seat Mr. Paddock to represent
ber. He is not tbe man. He has not
got vim sufficient to look after the inter
eota of our growing joung cooisBonwealth.
He occupies too much of his time in
looking after a re-election, and too little
in looking after the interests of the
people. Nebraska has no iaterest in old
fogies. She wants good men, live men,
men who are fuN of starch, aad who will
look after the interest of the whole people
and not a particular clique. Mr. Pad
dock and his friend' are net charged
aaytbing for this opinion. But it is cor
rect all the same.
STATE TIACHSSS' ASSOCIATION.

Last Thursdsy Geo. E Banks and
Miss Julia Goodhue were united ia the
bonds of wedlock aad commenced a life
matrimonial blessedness, (or cevaednsiss,)
time alone can tell which. In organising
this new Baak () no large capital was
required, only a pledge for the fatare,
but as they enlarge their business and
start new smaller Banks, it will eall for an
increase of capital stock, Wa doubt not
that there stock will be sufficient aad the
benefit to our village of so many pros
pective Baaks, can be appreciated by
