Scott of Indian Creek, has announced himself as candidate for sounty sheriff. Mr. Scott is a good man for the position, and his fiiend feel that hois the man for the place. We learn that a little daughter of Mr. McQuilkin's, residing about four jnile north-west of town, was bitten en the heel by a rattlesnake last Fri day hile returning from school. m We are authorized to announce the name of H. Did you ever think, gentle reader, that a local paper saves in readers many times its subscription pi ice every year. We are told that one field of oats threshed last week yielded bO bu.-hei. per acre.
