old song, but wakeard it revived the
other mornwf-by S. V. Ludlow, who
thinks it rather new. It's a girl thi
time and weighs 7 J pounds. We took
a cigar to the health of the youngster.
Bitton-holeing was all the go last
Tuesday. Everybody was nearly talk
ad to death by the different lobbyists
who were as thick as g. hoppers ever
'get. After the votes were counted
'which was about 12 p. tn., the boys
got on a ''high," aud it took some of
our merchants fonie time before they
could proceed to busine-s the next
morning, in clearing away the boxes
before their doors.
One man in Webster county re
ceived one vote for Supreme Judge,
one for Regent of the State University
and four for Coroner. We suppose,
ho wanted some office and thought he
might secure one if he ruu for enough
of them.
The annual meeting of the Web
ster County Congregational Church
will be held at Red Cloud, October 16
aad 17, beginning on Saturday at 10
o'clock a. m. General invitation is
wost cordially given to Christiana of
all denominations and also to the pub
