Tbomas B WiLLfAUS who died
about 3 o'clock last Thu:;d7 morn
ing. He was a native of Wales, aad
about forty yea .-a of age, we are
unable to give his exact age-and came
to America previous to the breakiag
out of the war. He served d iriog the
war, ia the Mississippi aad Gulf
squadrons, aad whea discharged locat
ed in New OrJcaos, from whence he
came to Nebraska. The Doctor was
one of tbe first settlers of Webster
County, comiog here io the summer
or tall of 1870, and wintering iu tbe
eld stockade. He assisted materially
in the organization of tbe county, and
was elected County Clerk, a position
he held two years. Sioce that time
aatil his death he wis engaged in the
practice of medicine. Warm-hearted
aad full of geaeroas impulses he made
maoy friends who will miss him.
The funeral services took place oo
Friday, aod were coaducted by Rev.
Cbas. Reilly, of Juniata. A large
number of tbe friends aod acquaiut
ascesof the deceased attended the
funeral cervices, and followed his re
mains to their final testing place.
