an act of the Legislature, approved
February 25th, it is ui-de the duty of
School District Boards to furnish
immediately to the County Clerk a
statement of the amount of Bonds
heretofore issu d, and not already
paid, the date of each Bond, the rate
of interest, and when aud where it
is payable.
You will mate this statement as
possible, and unless made in time
for the Couuty CemBlisaionera to levy
the lax required to pay the interest
on your bonds, no tax will be levied
for that purpose.
The law makes it the duty of the
County Commissioners to levy the
tax .at the aasae time other taxes are
levied on the first Monday in July.

Brown, wife of Thos. P. Brown, aged
G2 years ; of Batin Precinct, Webster
coaaty, Nebraska.
The deceased was highly esteemed
by her friends and neighbors, aad
leaves an aged husband and laige fam
ily to nioora her loss. For many years
past she has been a member of the
Congregational Church, aad died hi
full faith of a "better laBd." The sor
rowing husband to whom she had bees
a loving companion for forty-two years,
receives the sympathy of a large circle
of friends.

Kansas, died on Saturday night last,
and on Monday her remains were for
warded to Clayton, Adams county,

J. Jacobson, of Juniata, came
down on Sunday, and regained until
the next day.
The Sabbath School lately organ
ized on Ash Creek, school district No.
IS, is under the aas-ices of the M. E
Church. This statement was omitted
in the communication lat week.
F. N. Richardson, one of the first
settlers of the county, and formerly
living on Elm Creek, has sold off all
his stock, eta, and gone back to Indi
ana. "Fris." was one of the lively
boys, a good citiz.m, and we regret his
departure from tbe county.

Dr. Thos. B. Williams died this
(Thur.-day) morning about 3 o'clock.
For some time past he had been in a
feeble condition, and about a week
since he was taken violently sick, but
rallied ho as to be up. Yesterday be
walked out, for a few minutes, but all
could see bis days wete about num
bered, lie was 35 years of age.
The early sown wheat is up and
looks nicely. The ground has been in
a good condition for small grain, but a
little rain just now would be good for
corn Iacd, and briog on the grass.

The Commissioners have formed
two new product, named Stillwater
aud Inavale. The boundary lines will
appeae in the proceedings next week.

Clede House in good ttyle. The office
has been changed somewhat, aod has
been papered snd grained in good
style by Van Winkle.
VanWinkle has done a fins job of
painting and graining on the doors of
Richardson's house.

time. It will add to the beauty of

perty. This little town of ours will
ook a hundred per cent, better in five

of Red Willow, in the State of Ne
braska, did on the 9th day of April
1875, file bis petition in the District
Court within aud for the county of
Webster, in the State of Nebraska :
against the above named defendants,
witting forth that the mid John G.
Potter and Elizabeth Potter gave a
mortgage to the said Alfred E. Perry
on lot ton (10) in block twenty rix (26)
in the village. of Red Cloud, Neb., and
lots ten and eleven (10 & 11), in block
one (1). in Uiehardoa's addition to
Red Cloud, nil in said Webster county
to secure the payment of the sum of
three hundred (300) dollars, according
to certain notes referred to in said
mortgage, and also to secure A E Perry
against his liability on certain joint
debts of the said John G. Potter, and
Alfred E. Perry, assumed by John G.
Potter, and that the said Alfred E.
Perry assigned said mortgage to de
fendant James M. Baldwin, md that
said James M. Baldwin further a-wign'
ed said mortgage to plaintiff, and that
since the giving of said mortgage, the
defendants composing tbe said firm of
Schuster, Ketcbam k Co., and J. C.
Ogden k Co., claim to hare acquired
some interest in tbe premises no mort
gaged, and praying that mid John G.
Potter may par the num of two hun
dred ($200) dollars due plaintiff with
interest from May 15th. 1874, or that
said premises may be sold to pay the
same. You and each of you are here
by notified to answer said petition on
or before tbe third Monday after the
13th day of May, 1875
