We arc making arrangements to en large and otherwise improve The Chief, intending to bring, it up to the Uadard of beiag the largest and best county newspaper west of Lincoln. It will take soiue time and considerable extra labor to bring this change about, and in the meantime the paper will bo rather slim. We ask the indulgence of our readers until we are ready 6 "loom up." It may be taken us an evidence of the growth and prosperity of Red Cloud that the school house is entirely too small for the present requirements of the school district. A great mistake was made in erecting a building only large enough for the year in which it was built. It is now too lato to discuss that side of the question, anf all wo can now do is to make preparation for present necessities, and at the same time look ahead to the building of a school house that will afford ample accommodation for the future. It is time that this mat ter should receive serious consideration. Tut following appointments for re ligious services, next Sabbath, have been handed in : Red Cloud, 10 a. m., Rev. Stone.
