We were hopitally received and enter

at this time.
rE notice that a number of persons
have been in the habit of shooting
around rather carelcs-5r with shot suns,
revolvers, etc., sometimes simply to get
a lond out of a gun, at dog', or for fun,
perhaps, thereby endangering the lives
of others. A little care should be taken
or wrious reul L may follow. Twice
within a week we have heard a bullet

From the Paint ViUty Times, pub

following :
We had the pleasure of a call this
week from Col. Lfo Estelle, of Neb. He
is here On a short visit among his friends,
after an absence of thtee years spent on
the frontier. In health and appearance
he is a true type of a frontier-tnin, and
looks as though a hand to hand encoun
ter with a ComnncJic or an open field
fight with a wild Buffalo "ffould be a
mere pleasure or past time.
We notice in tin Red Oloud Chief,
under the head of OEctal Directory the
names of J. A. Tulley- County Clerk
antl I. W. Tullcys, Prubate Judge. Both
of these gentlemen were formerly of this
place, and we ven'un: the assertion tint
the citizens of Webber county, could
have made uo better selection for the
above offices.
.We hare heretofore neglected to no
tice the receipt of the Lincoln Daily
Journal, the best representative of a
western newspaper pub!Uhed between
the "Big Muddy" and the Rocky
Mountains. The Journal ha particular
claims upon the people of Western Ne
braska. s being the only paper of in
fluence in the State, which advocated
th rights of the western counties to in
creased representation. We have re
ceived many courtesies from the publish
