A school teacher, who had been eu
paged a long time in the profession,
and v.itnes.-ed the influence of a news
paper upon the minds of families and
children writes as follows: I have
found it to be a universal fact, with
out exception, that scholars of both
sexes, and of all ages who have access
to newspapers at home, when com
pared with those who have not, are :
1. Hotter readers, excellent hi pro
