milk-pans into a huge stone pot.
"Young woman," said Mr. Palmleaf,
turning his spectacles upon her amazea

"Sir?" said Dolly, her spoon coming
to an abruut standstill, nnud the
wrinkled and leather-like folds of tho

"In other words," explained Mr.
Palmleaf, "do you want a good home?"
"Indeed, sir, I never thought oi'such
a thing!" said Dolly, in a flurry.

at the corner, and fell to meditating on
