An escort of the Grand Army of the
Republic left Omaha Thursday after
noon iu the Pullman car Humboldt to
receive and welcome Gen. Grant. Gen.
C. F. Manderson was commander and
Capt. J.'S. Wood adjutant.
The party met the General at Ch
eiine, and returned to Omaha, reach
ing there Saluid.iy about 2 p. m., as
before stated.
On the road do ami crowds welcomed

her husband's arms. It was a very heavy blow
upon the family, hut hardest upou the husband,
and it seemed for a time a-i if he could not he
reconciled. He nnd hi family have the heart -fait
sympathy of the entire cummuuity.
Mother Worrell was the daughter of lie v.

She came from New York to Ohio, and from
there to Indiana. Here she was united to the
llaptbt church in her fifteenth year, and was
married in the nineteenth year of herae to
John 15. Worrell. She came to Iowa iu l4.s,
and from thure to Nebraska in and has re
sided here since, beloved by all who knew her,
for she wr.s a loving and-.-iffcctionat.? wife,
kind and indulgent mother, ardent and consis
tent Christian and true friend. We all feel
that she is better off. and we are sad to loe
her.
