Justice Field, of the supreme court,
is steadily pressing forward as the dem
ocratic dark horse. He is rich, David
Dudley Field is powerful. So is Cy

anti-Tilden. Just'ce Field is large, is
somewhat bald, his hair curling a lit
tle; and his beard is curly. He looks
like a cross between Tennyson and a

cisco City give these results:

Thursday night a man named S. J.
Buck drove up to the City Hall with
a four-horse team and a wagon having
a large frame rack on it, containing
lour elks, which he wanted to sell to
the city for Hanscom Park, the price
asked being $400. The Council refus
ed to buy them. These elks were
caught when young, by Mr. Buck, with
a lasso, between the headwaters of the
Cedar and Loup rivers. Two are males
and two are females, and none of them
are over two years old, and are tine
looking auimals. Mr. Buck has caught
seven within the last two years. He
broke two of them to harness. ad fre
quently drove them a mile in 3:10.
