Dovey tells the most apropos
story or the Campaign. Illustrating
the position of tiie old iiue hard money
democrat who is now advocating a
soft money platform, he says it re
minds him of Moody the great preach
er who while m London met a sol
dier early one morning, wlu was a
little off, from a frolic the night be
fore. Jloody reasoned with the maw,
and to gain his attention more fully
said, putting his hands on his Uniform,
"I am a soldier too, my man," "You
are" says the man, "what regiment 1
you belong to?" "I am a soldier of
the Cross, the Reg:ment of Heaven"
answered Moody. "Well vou may be
a soldier of Heaven, old fellow, but
your a long ways off from your
Barracks," retorted the soldier.
Dovey says a Democrat for soft
money may be a democrat but he's a
good ways from his Birracks; so he
is.

Ed. Ashman is going to start two
