Duprez & Benedict's New Orleans minstrels appeared at the Academy of Music last evening to a full house, and were received with hearty and unstint ed applause. Many ladies were present. The programme contained more rollicking, original fun than any thing that has been upon the Academy stage since Duprez last visited Omaha. Unlike the majority-of minstrel com panies no old worn-out jokes and an tiquated farces are presented, but all is fresh and as full of fun as anything can be. In to rich and full a programme, all of which are excellent, we can only mention a few features. The over ture, which brought out the superb orchestra and that wonderful quartette, and those four end men who were in describable, the Blackberry Cavalry was exquisitely funny, Helen's Babies, The Four Tramps, Pierson, the female impersonator, the champion dancers Fox and Ward, Warfield with his ban jo, and other features went to make up the programme. Herald. The Herald made a short notice of the barn of Andy Taylor last week ; since then wishing to show a friend what a beautiful country we had about Plattsmouth, and what improvements our people are making we visited Mr. Taylor's place in person. He has a no ble farm about three miles south-west of town, with one of the finest young orchards we have seen. Bis peach crop this year wil be famous if no bad luck happens. Everything else looks well in proportion. Mr. Taylor is a mighty good example of what the right kind of man can do in Nebraska. He came here 20 years ago, with literally no means at all, worked on a farm, but worked, Andy did, and not fooled around at half a dozen things. To day he has two line large farms, everything that goes to make a home comfortable and money at interest. Stranger, go thou an 1 do likewise.
