Our Louisville Letter.
Louisville, Neb., March 18.
Ed. Herald I am glad to be able
to report to you this week that the
course of Zion in this community is
still growing in strength and magni
tude and that we see the effects which
come of prayer and feel that we are
prospered as was Hezekiah et al of old
"because of that which is right in
the sight of the Lord" the ground
was broke to-day for the new church.
The Sunday school prospers as do all
institutions of God, with J. R. Toman
as Sp.pt. The red ribbon club is "to
have a lecture by some one of Platts
tnouth's temperance workers next Fri
day evening. Not long since, Milton
Polk entertained the people of Glendale
with 3 lecture otv teTnTnvnce, riven
under the .auspices of the Bed Bibbon
club, and acquitted himself in a very
creditable manner. Mil tort has promised
the people of ;L. a "drink from the
same canteen," and. we' hope he will
not forget it.
The inevitable - county seat fight
movement is upon as again attended
with all its former symptoms. We
think we see it in the atmosphere and
can fancy we hear it warbled forth
from the forest by the first birds of
spring time, and in the evening when
the sun makes long the shadows of
man we hear it echoed back by the
plaintive bull frog, but we are brought
to the full realization of the fact, when
in the clatter and whirl of business, a
man shows us a paper in fact and says,
" there, sign here."
Mr, Fox's Mother and Brother arriv
ed last week from York State, they
have come west to grow up. &c, we
ftie glad to welcome all such.
While L. boasts of its progressive
spirit and love for novelties we must
not omit to notice one organization, it
fosters which boasts of its antiquity,
and points, and proudly points, to the
records of its existence for beyond the
history of the Chinese Empire and
that is a Bachelors club. kWe under
stand its rules are rigid and when one
of its members is caught violating
them "its awful," B. F. Ramsey is
Worthy Boss Bachelor, W. C. Banger,
W. V. B. B., W. L. Wallace W. B.
Scribe Dr. Hildebrand, W. B. of S. and
M., B. Hildebrand, W. B. of F. L., J. B.
Toman W. B. B. I. G., Clias. Whitney,
W. B. B. Lecturer.
It is strictly secret in its workings,
and the ranks of Bachelorhood are
now understood to be invincible.
