L'oim dak:- V Jery pre- The prospect is that warm times are ahead in the republican ranks. We haven't seen any cauldron. There never was any thirteen candi dates for Sheriff; every body knows there are Greenbackers in Cass Coun ty; the whole Republican parly here is a greenback party ; those particularly shouting themselves hoarse, for Green backs will vote with the I)emocra:s. they always do Pany lines were never strong in Cass. The proof is that for the lir.t time in years the Democracy propse to run a s.raight dimmvcratic ticket, refusing to join with any Independent or Greecnback move. The old leaders have not be'en thrown aside if ihe ticket is any cri terion and thev do command the con- Tiirrservices at the Catholic Church on Sunday last we. e verv interresting and largely attended. The lit. Rev. James O'Conner. assisted by the Rev. Fathers Itenolds, Macken, Greanabaum and Hayes administered the rite of confirmation to over forty persons, the Bishop delivering the candidates first a most instructive and sensible ad dress on their duties and the privileges conferred on them by this rite. We are not sufficient. v acquainted with the ritual of the Catholic Church to know exactly what else was done, ex cept that the Pope's blessing was giv en by the Bishop, being conferred by his Pontilicial Highness on the Good Catholic's of Nebraska for their pre sentation to him of some three thou- lidence of th" people as the vo.e will sand dollars on the occasion of the gold-. show; and the prospect a hea l is that 'en aniversary of his pontificate. In the afternoon services were held again and the Rev. Father Greenabaum preach ed in German. In the evening Bishop O'Conner lectured at Fitzgerald Hall, and gave us some nev ideasin regard to the Russian question. Evident ly the Bishop doesn't think much of ihe Russian plea that they made che w ar to protect christians from Turkish barbarities. there will be warm tini's for the Louisville convention and the ticket they may put up whic.Ii shows that Ramsey cannot tell the truth even when it would help his party to tell the tru.h. programme says ami it shou.d be weirSHie,i with grea. dig.iity, o'l.s-.-rvi.ig a; patronized. the outset th it "laoe s. al.iw.igs .dac- . m Donny and Ti-T.p" were ,. res:-. 1 1 Can.Ihhites .olii-e Jonathan Vis-.i:;.d n Wi:-, . . . The IIekald regrets this action on their part, believing that if they have any just cause for complaint with the action of the Convention, it would have been righted in due time within the limits of the narty organization. four hundred voters in Cass Countv at least one-sixth are greenbackers, and they seem disposed to, tight it out with a straight ticket. Party lines have been thoroughly broken in Cass Conn ty. The old leaders of the Republican party have been thrust aside, and new leaders are at the helm. These new leaders do not command the confidence of the parts', yet through some sort of legerdemain they have been enabled to carry a majority of their nominees. ..12 ..IB ..10 .. 3 .. 4 "latttinoiit ii Precinct Itock I'.luH Liberty : '.
