Minutes of hist meeting read and ap
proved. The Secretary made a gener
al statement of the condition of the
Society. On paction the Society pr
cefided to consider the question as to
the location of the Fair Grounds.
Louisville and Centre precincts made
propositions fcr the location, after due
consideration and a review of t lie ad
vantages and disadvantages of the sev
eral localities the ground was located
In Centre, precinct, by almost a unani
mous vote, under the following propo
fcition and motion offered by Mr. E. G.
Ilfced, that the grounds of the Cass Co.
Agricultural Society, he located at the
south-east quarter of section 23, town
1 1 , range 1 1 , the said grounds to be free
to the Society fur tho rpace of five y'rs.

A preliminary meeting to m ike ar
rangements fcr holding a mu sical Con
vention met at R. B. Windham's otliee,
Feb. 20th. Capt. Marshall called to
the chair, Jame3 Pettee Secretary, pro
tern. Secretary gave tho object of the
meeting there was a general expres
sion of interest. Secretary was instruc
ted to communicate with Professor E.
B. Gcer, of Tabor, Iowa, and ascertain
his terms for conducting a Convention
in this city, and report at next meeting.
The meeting voted to start a paper and
get the signatures of those who would
attend and aid in carrying cut the en
terprise. Thirteen signatures were im
mediately affixed, Messrs. Windham
and Pettee were instructed to circulate
the paper, and report at the next meet
ing, adjourned to meet at Methodist
Church, Saturday evening at half past
seven o'clock, promptly, at which time
and place it is proposed to perfect the

?fr. Chas. Lazenby aud family left
us on Tuesday the 20th for Denver and
Colorado.
Mr. Lazenby has been a resident here
twelve years and over, and bnilt in con
necison with E. Buttery the handsome
brick stable, known as the "Bon;-.cr
Stable." It was at that time the larg
est and finest livery barn in Nebraska.
Latterly Mr. L. has been ih the grain
and f-tock business. He leaves largely
for the benefit of his health. As a
neighbor and friend we shall miss
Charley a great deal. As a citizen the
town could ill alTord to lose him. Hop
ing sincerely that he may meet with
good luck atd have the bes,t of health
in his new home, we sadly say good
bye.
