At this time when so many of our patiions are preparing for or contem plating their usual trip during the sum mer solstice, it is well to present to our rsadeis the prominent advantages offered by the railroads running direct to the Centennial grounds. To. this end we would speak of the economy, convenience and desirability of taking the Great Fort Wayne Sc Pennsylvania Line, which is running three (3) daily Centennial trains from Chicago to the very gate at the main entrance. These trains are made up of the elegant Pull man Parlor Sleeping and Hotel Coach es, and combine the luxury and comfort of a life at home, yet gliding over this famous route, noted for its perfect equipment anil careful management, at a safe rate of speed never yet attained by any rival. A feature not to pass unnoticed is the facility for reaching hotels. In the immediate vicinity,, within five minutes walk of the Cen tennial Depot, are to lie found hotels, at which good accommodations can be obtained for two to five dollars per day. The Encampment at Elm station, near the Centennial Grounds, was es tablished by the National Grange of the Patrons of Husbandry, for the pur pose of accommodating the large num ber of agriculturists w ho desire to visit the Exhibition, and to afford a com fortable and suitable resting place at the moderate expense of two dollars per day. Taking into consideration the im mense sura of money, time and labor expended by this line to render perfect its occommodations for the comfort and safety of its patrons, we unhesi tatingly recommend it as the most de sirable route to reach the Centennial Exhibition. ATTENTION, TEACHERS. The Teachers' Institute for this dis trict will be held at West Point, to commenco on Tuesday, August 1st, 18TC, and continue three weeks. It will be conducted by Prof. Thomp son. Principal of the State Normal School, Prof. Wightman, of Platts mouth, Prof. Palmer, Editor Neb. Teacher, Prof. Nicholson, of Peru, and other able teachers. Practical teaching for the common schools is the main work; but regular class work w ill be carried on, under competent instructors, not only in the common branches in higher English, but with special reference to the wants of those teachers who may desire- to obtain First Grade State Certificates, for which an examination will beheld. Instruction will be given in drawing and in theory and art of teaching. The membership fee for the term, is only SI. and arrangements are made to furnish board to members at S3 per week.
