He thinks of going to Beatrice to re side and practice on the folks there. T. W. Evans, Cashier of the First Xational Bank, Crete, and an old townsman, is back to visit us for a few days. Lew Cropsey writes to a friend in Lincoln that his wife has presented him with an eight pound Dutch girl in Chemnitz, says the Lincoln Blade, and right underneath this, without any rule or sign is the following advice: "If you wish to keep cool get some wood insoles of Carver & Deere." Miss Sweeney received on Saturday last, tight or ten pattern hats, one or two of which she still has on hand, and if the ladies are desirous of seeing the latest styles, they had better go and inspect them without delay. The majority were of black lace; one, how ever, ordered by a lady here, of brown china craje, trimmed with gros grain ribbon of another shade, and pink ros es, was particularly noticeable. Some of the lace bonnets had on sprays of roses of two colors, a pink and a dark red for instance, or a pink and a white one, which is one of the latest caprices of fashion. Go and see them.
