The Captain of the ferry boat says they lutve aver aged seventeen wagons a day, and the long strings of cattle, horses, and in some cases sheep, w hich daily pass be fore our doors, boar token that the great Wet somewhere must be settling up. "Lands for the Landless" will soon become a misnomer, for there will be no land without a land-holder, and there will be nobody landless to take up the land if there were. On a fair average these wagons will contain lour souls to a wagon thus making sixty-eight new inhabitants a day, which cross the river at this point alone. his means twenty to thirty new homesteads opened for at least each day's travel, aml each one of these homesteads will soon have from forty to eighty acres of prairie land under cultivation, sending forth their hun dreds of bushels of wheat and thous-j ands of bushels of corn.
