Au-,--0ur i-hipping laeihi'w's are ex
cellent. We have the river alon; one
entire side of the county, the B. & M.
railroad running fur over thiity miles
through the county, runtiimi seven daily
trains between this city and Chicago;
the Kansas City, St. Joe and Council
Bluffs railroad gives us railroad connec
tion with all parts south, and tlrT- Trunk
Railroad will soon give us a second line
direct to St Louis. We have the best
thipping facilities of any place in the
west, if we except perhaps, Omaha, and
we ran hardly be counted inferior to that
lace.

An.-. Loyal to the core. Glorious
old Cass i- co.tt.ted one of the counties
it) Nebra-ka where a g.t id round majori
ty for tli j principles of the ilepubiican
party can alvv.iys be looked for.
IIu.v is the supply of limber and
water?
. Ai-s. Cass county is wed wateri d, as
is neatly all of our .State ; and tli.-re is
no such thing as poor water in the State.
Timber is not so plentiful as we might
de.-ire, yet there is no particular incon
venience felt from lack of it. Cass coun
ty is probably as Well timbered as any
county in the State and has some of the
finest water power in the State.
Is there mueh vacant good land in
your county ?
An. There is very little government
hut in Cass county, yet there 's much
'jr-.tl npun w!i:cli iticie mc im improve
ments, and which can be bought at very
reasonable figures say fiom i'o to $10
pvi' acre.
Do you think the bu-ine-s of breed
inc fiii'j blood swine would pay there?
Ans. We think there is h.ndiy a
doubt on the subject. This State is em
phatically a stock eounry, and there is
much call among our fanners for the
finer bteeds f cattle, horses and swine.
We know of very many farmers who are
