City. Last night Plaitsmouth was vis-'

the first high water. The basements of
Fitzgerald's, Merges' and Guyger's
Mocks were again filled, and this time
the kitchen of the Brooks House was
completely demolished. The current
came with such force as to tear cut the
wall from the vest side of the Brooks
IIou.-c kitchen, not leaving a single brick
to tell where the wall had been. The
.Main street culvert, which was being re
mode!' 1 und enlarged, was carried en
tirely sway, leaving a yawning gnu of
twenty feet across and fifteen feet deep
across Main street, with scarcely a rock
left. The walls were carried away '"root
;aid branch," and the massive rocks,
many of tliem weighing near a ton, are
