Gov. Butler arrived in Oiuaha, fom
Washington, last Tuesday, , and has ex
pressed his iutention of convening the
Legislature on the 17th inst. We have
no indications from hitn as to what sub
jects he will embrace in his call.
The locomotives being manufactured
for the 15. & M. Company of Nebraska,
cost $13,500 each, making $159,51)0 for
the nine locomotives to be in u.-e west
from Plattsuiouth this season. Verily, it
takes money to equip a road as well as
to build one.

Father Hays is expected to arrive here
this evening and will hold services in the
Catholic Church at the usual hours next

affairs when a railroad has no objective

The Omaha people are boasting over
the fact that one mile of track was lab
in a single day on the S. W. R. R.

on the famous "Midland" are doing.
They have been laying two miles a day

cept spiking, lining the track, putting in
a few tics and leveling up the track so
thoy can run a locomotive ever it.
