posterity" The declaration of Inde-
pendence lays down the fundamental
truths that "All men are endowed by
nature with certain unalienable rights,
that among these are life; liberty and
, the pursuit of happiness, and tbst to
' secure these rights, governments are
, instituted among: men" The whole
