ance of Sheriff Jonnson even after they

Patterson. ' Mr Johnson sent an accurate
description of them to every officer within
153 miles, and then started out with the
intention tit re-taking them anthe done
it.! They had stuck olose 'to' the brush
up to tho time of their arrest. McGregor
had just come out for tho purpose of
getting aboard a 6tearaboat, when Sher
iff Johnson stepped off ihe boat and took
charge of him. Mr. Johnson says ' the
coun'ry is full of thieve. The "boys"
found rlcnty of companions in the brush
who were hiding from jutice. They
will not be likely to break jail again
soon, as they each carry a fine set I
"jewels" weighing about fifty pounds.

penitentiary who broke jail recently, of
whom motion was made in the Herald
last week, have been caught, and are
again under the fatherly care of sheriff
Johnson, who will see that they do not
'stay out late o' nights" hereafter. He
caught McGregor at NehrasKa City, and
Patterson was cought by the cheriffof
Nemaha County, about five miles below
Brownville. .He was camped in the
woods along with onother young fellow,
who it Is supposed was hiding from jus
tico.
