There bare been several afesments made
from time to time, to defray the expenses of
tb company, a large proportion of which has
not been (aid ; and in case the same is cot
paid the resolutions of the company will be
enforced against all who have not, or will
not comply Immediately. The books of the
company nave been kept in such a tnsnner,
that vouchers will have to be presented by
those who have paid j that their (hares may
be properly credited.
One assessment was made, October 6ih,
1856. for $5,f0, oue October 7th. ISf.fi, for
$5,00, one Jane 8th 1857, for $15,00, one
July 27th, 1857, for $2,00, one September
8th 1857, $10,00, one Juue nth li68, for
$3,00. Total, $40,00.
The whole amount of as.esirnent ' each
share of e. tock of the Dnkota City Company,
and the sharehslderi wiff remember, that iu
the articles of incorporation, all the private
property of the Stockholders is bound fur the
assessments made sgainst the share register
ed in hit nau?, or that he may hold.
And farther :
At a meeting of the Dakota City Company
held June 12th, 1858, there was a resolution
passed ordering the President to give notice
to all the Shareholders to pay the amount
due within sixty days, or in default of pay
ment nil the .tock on which the assessments
were not paid in sixty days, from the dato
thereof, should be sold to the highest bidder,
and the assessment paid ; and the overplus if
any, to be subject te the order of the Share
holders. On the 28d day of Aognut 1859, there was
another resolution passed, giving the Presi
dent power to do what was most expedient in
his judgment with the property and a-scts of
the Cntnpaujr, to meet the liabilities of the
Fame.
AND NOW,
By order of tt rretident, T. EL WOOD
CLARK, to giv A'ctiet,
That if the above is not complied with in six
ty days, the resolutions of the company will
be enforced, and all the stock of the compa
ny tbatthe assessment are not paid on, will
be sold to pay the liabilities of the company ;
as all the property of the city within the
bounds, to wit : from Elm Stfect to Vine
Street aud from and from Cth street to 20th
street, has been entered by the Mayor, aud
all outside that by Trustees ; and the time
for prcuriug warrantee deeds cf these parties
closos within six months from the date of
their entry; nnd All the property not deeded
will be forfeited. SHAREHOLDERS AND
CREDITORS will take warning that on the
9th day of J.inuory, A. D. 1800, all the stock
with alljtbe property not then oovered by deed
in Dakota City, will be sold to the highest
bidder, and the debt of the company settled
up, if only a dividend is deolared.
N. B. We would further eny that those
who have Hot obtained deeds to tho lots drawn
on their shares, can obtain tho snme by call
ing upon the Secretary and paying tho as
sessment due
