Petition offered by Mr. Savage asking the
city of Brownvllle to vote 500,000 to aid in the
Brown vill and Ft Kearney Railroad :
. WnEKEAr A resolution was adopted at a
rneetirM? of the Counfcil, held December 6th,
authorizing and instructing the Mayor of said-,
city to issue a Proclamation, calling upon
the legal voters-of- the city of Brownvllle to
vote upon the question of issuing the Bonds
of said city; to aid in the construction of the
Qulncy, Missouri and Pacific Railroad; and.
Whereas,. Said Proclamation and prepo
sitions, therein contained do not seem to
meet the wishes and views of the majority of
the citizens of Brownvllle; therefore be it
llexolved. That said resolution be and Is
hereby rescinded.

election be ordered to be held in the city of
Brownvllle, January 29th; 1870. at which the
qualified voters of said city shall be called
upon to vote for or against the question of
subscribing on the part of the city the sum of
