SCHOOL FCSD APPORTIONMENT.
We learn from Jas. M. Hacker, County
Clerk, and from A- W. Nlekc.ll, Superinten
dent, that Hon. 8. D. Beals, State Superin
tendent, did. while here, express a deter-
'nlnaiion not to make an apportionment of
Restate School Fund this fall, but to wait
od make It with tbe Spring apportionment.
"he reason assigned being that some of the
Enumeration were not in, aud that an ap
portionment would be a great injustice to
ueh as liad not reported. If this really be
us uitention yre protest, because of the irre
ivable injury it would inflict upon the edu
cational interest of the .Slate by closing the
"imoH schools during the reason when &
Jorlty of children can attend; and because
1 proposed to inflict this injury to save
kine from the effect of their own neglect. Be
"ldeae learn from good legal source that
men postponement is entirely unwarranted
ylftw, as it is expressly his duty to make
' uch apportionment, which, according to the
Present law. ousrht to be ready alout the 1st
-f January, It will be tight times with a
reat many schools to hold out this long, as
'e learn from Mr. Hacker that hardly a day
, ashe but some person la in to draw school
oney for some district in need of it to run
school, We hope to hear from him and
:ore fully his reasons for the step contera-j-Uted,
as it is a subject of too great import
tice to be trined with.
