invite the farming community to call and
examine their stock of Farm Implements.
See advertisement. They buy direct from the
manufacturers, have them shipped in large
quantities, and understand Just what they

Sidewalks. Henry Knepherhasatlength
saw fit to grade down his sidewalk, which
gives a continuous sidewalk (with the ex
ception of 90 feet,) from the river to the Cul
vert. There is some talk about widening the
sidewalks. This' would be a good move, for
the streets being 80 feet and sidewalks only 9f
the proportion is not good or harmonious. If
anything is done in this matter, and we be
lieve all can Bee it as desirable, it should be
done forthwith, so that those wishing to pave
may know what to work to.
Last Monday was a Pine Day. A St.
Joe negro came to town; one of our citizens,
to whom the African was owing some money,
concluded to take principal and Interest out
of his dusky hide, for which he was fined $5
and costs. Then negro Bill, Tom Hunter and
Neal Dorset, all of African persuasion, got
into a row in which a pistol was fired off, and
they were arrested and each fined. As to the
merits of the cases we know not ; but it was
a fine day, netting to the city near $75.
