With its larga colored and still larger Fashion Plate, uncolored; its many patterns, notions, etc., and its large amount of in teresting reading matter, make it a most desirable acquisition to tha family. Ladiei' Friend for April contains the usual num- ter 0f plates devoted to the fashions, and to dif- ferent styles of ladies' and childrens dresses. It - - v contains besides tae usual double steel Fashion Plate, a beautiful and pathetio steel engraving "Caught by the Tide.' Godey'i Lad y 't Bool for April, is fully equal to its predecessors. Its literature is made up of ar ticles from the pens of the best writers of the day The ladies will find in it the usual amount of de signs for Fancy Work ; also no less than thirty nine Ergrarings for ladies' and children' dre?ses and other garments. Harper'i Weekly, Illustrated, certainly gives one abetter idea of passing events than can possibly be obtained otherwise. Its illustrations are from the best artis tf, a large corps of whem all over the eonntry, are constantly contributing to its columns all passing events of note. It is just now of the utmost value because of its illustrations of the im ceachment, which or themselves are wortn more a than the yearly cost of the papor, WilJx$' Spirit of tit Timet published at J01, William Street, New York city, is a paper which co man who pretends to any knowledge of horse- esh, field-sports, or the stage, can well do with out, to say nothing of matches made in the ring, and on the turf.
