Some eight years ago he procur ed the seed l this corn from Mississip pe, its great peculiarity being the small size cf the ear and grain, aa average ear being about two inches long and as thick as your littl finger. We are really pleased to learn that the Steam Ferry boat running between this and Scott city changed lands during the past week, by Mr. Yontis selling out the boat and fran chise to Mr. Joseph Ward, recently head Engineer on the packet 'steamer St. Joseph. This change ensures ft man in charge of the boat who thoroughly un derstands the business, combined with a determination and accommodation to make this as the point demands one of the best crossings on the Missouri river. The benefit cf this change can not well hi over-estimated, and we be speak for the new proprietor all and every assistance that our citizens can render to bring the business up to its proper standard. The BrawnTille Distillery ana Rectifying Establishment Cnunged DandS. The Brownville Distillery and Rectifying Establishment has just been purchased entire by wealthy parties from Miami county, Ohio, who are thoroughly acauainted with the business and have means and energy to make these estab lishments tecond to none in the West. This will be jjood news to the farmers of this county as .affording a home de mand for the great staple of this section, Corn. This firm will certaialy push the business with such vigor as io use up the bulk of surplus corn raised ia this sec tion ; besides, they will want wood, era ploy quite a number nf hands, fatten a great deal of stock, and in many ways add to the wealth and commerce of the country. Prejudice aside, this a big thing for Nemaha county and Brown ville, and we wish the new proprietors success. I. o. or G T. Pursuant to notice a meeting was held ia Masonic Hall on Saturday eve. It makes the hair nioist, soft, and fjlosty, and is unsurpassed as a JIAUI IJIiESS IN G. It is the cheapest preparation ever offered to the pub tic, as one bottle will accomplish more and last longer than threv bottles of any other preparation. It is recommended and used by the First Medlc.il Authority. The wonderful results produced by our Sicilian Hair llenewer have induced many to manufacture pre parations for the Hair, under va rious navies; and, in order to in duce the trade and the public to purchase their compounds, they have resorted to falsehood, by claiming they were former part ners, or had some connection tviln ctzr Jlr. Ilall, and their jyrcpara tion was similar to ours. Do not be deceived by them. 1'urchase Lie originals it hns never pet been equalled. Our Treatise on the Hair, with certificates, sent free by mail. See that eachboitle has our private Ilevcnue Stamp over the top of ths bottle. All ethers are imitations R. P. Hall L Co.. Prep's. ?h:hj2, 11 H. SoU lj aZ Drvists and Duelers it Zfedlcine. C. A.
