tieo 60. And be it further enacted, That every
internal revenue officer, whoso payment, charges,
salary, or compensation shall be composed, either
wholly er in part, of foes, commessions, allowances
or rewards .from whatever source derived , shall bo
required to render to the commissioner of internal
retrenue, under regulations to be approved by the
SooroUry of tho Treasury, a st&temoot under oath
getting forth tha ectty amount of such fees, com
uaiidion, eniol uments or rewards of vhatever na
ture , or from whatever source, received , during the
timo for w hicfi saii statement is rendered and
any falsa statem-int knowingly and wilfully ren
dered under (he requirements of this seation, or
regulations established in accordanoo therewith,
snail be deemed, wilful perjury ,and punished on con
victioo thereof, as provided in section forty-two of
tho act of Juna 30 , 1S51, to which this act is an
amendment : and any neglect or ominission to ren
der such stateatsnt when required shall be punish
ed on cony. ction thereof by a fine of not less than

spirits and fermented liquors shall take effect from

merchandise which shall, in the opinion of the cor
lector or deputy collector making such seizure, be
of tho appraised value of 3G0 dollars or less, tnd
which shall have been so soiled as being subject to
forfeiture under any of tho provision of this act,or
