Keeping this one thine In view "Pulclt Sales and Sniall Profits," be vnnot be undersold, AlHSTD THAT! Scrofula, or King's Evil, X3 a constitutional disease, a corruption of tho blood, by which this fluid become vitiated, weak, and poor. lieing in the circulttior, it pervades the whole body, and may burst out in dLsea.se on any part of it. No organ is free from its attacks, nor is there one which it may not destroy. The scrofulous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low living, dis ordered or unhealthy food, impure air, filth end filthy habits, the depressing vices, end, fcbove all, by the venereal infectioru What ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the con Btitution, descending from parents to children Unto the third and fourth generation ; " indeed it 6eems to be the rod of llim who says, 44 1 will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." . Its effects commence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in, the lungs, liver, and internal organ:?, is termed tubercles ; in the glands, swellings ; and on. the f urface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor ruption, which .genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitu tions not only suffer from scrofulous com plaints, but they have far less power to with stand tho attacks of other diseases; conse quently vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still rendered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which de cimates the human family has its origin directly in tlus scrofulous contamination; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organs, arise from or are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people are scrofulous ; their persons are invaded by this lurking in fection, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system we must renovate the blood by an alterative medicine, and in vigorate it by healthy food and exercise. Such ft medicine we supply in AYE1VS Compound Extract of Sargaparilla, the most effectual remedy which the medical .skill of our times can devise for: this every where prevailing and fatal maladv. .It is .com bined from the most active rcmcdials that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the system from its destructite consequences, lience it should be employed for the cure of not only Scrofula, but also those other affec tions which arise from it, such as EnvpnvB and Skix Diseases, St. Anthony's Fire, Hose, or Erysipelas, Pimpi.es, Pis rrLES, . Blotches, Blains and 1oit.s,Tcous, Tetter and Salt Rheum, Scald Head, Ringworm, Rheumatism, Syphilitic and Mercurial Dis eases, Dropst, Dyspepsia, Dei:ilitt, and, indeed, all Complaints arising ritoM Vitia ted on Impure Blood. The popular belief in " impurity of the llood" is founded in truth, for scrofula is a degeneration of the blood. The particular purpose and virtue of this Sarsapa tilla is to purify and regenerate this vital fluid, without which sound health is impossible in contaminated constitutions. AITER'S. Ague dure, FOB THE SPEEDY CURE OF Intermittent Fewer, or Fever and Agne, llemlttent Fever, Chill Fewer, Dumb Ague, Periodical Headache, or llilloaa Headache, and lUllons Fevers, indeed for the vrliole class of diseases originate lag in biliary derangement, caused bjr the Malaria of Miasmatic Countries. TVe are enabled here to offer the community a remedy which, while it cures the above complaints with certainty, is still perfectly harmless in any quantity. Such a remedy is invaluable in districts where these afflicting disorders prevail. This Curb " expels the miasmatic poison of Fever and Ague from the system, and prevents the de velopment of the disease, if taken on the first ap proach of its prejnonitory symptoms. It is not only the best remedy ever yet discovered for this class of complaints, but also the cheapest. The large quantity we supply for a dollar brings it within the reach of every body ; and in bilious districts, where Fever and Ague prevails, every body should kave it and use it freely both for cure ana protec tion. A great superiority of this remedy over any other ever discovered for the speedy and certain cure of Intermittents is that it contains no Quinine r mineral, consequently it produces no quinism or other iniurious effects whatever upon the constitu tion. Those cured by it are left as healthy as if they had never had the disease. lever and Ague is not alone the consequence of the miasmatic poison. A great variety of disor ders arise from its irritation, anions which are Neuralgia, Rheumatism, Gout, JleatiUche, Blind nr. Toothache, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma, Pal pitation, Pain fut Affection of the Spleen, Hyster ics, Pain in the Botceh, Cote, Paralysis aad Be rannement of the Stomach, all of which, when originating in this cause, put on the intermittent t'pe, or become periodical. This " Cure " expels the poison from the blood, and consequently cures them all alike. It is an invaluable protection to immisrants and persons travelliro or temporarily residing in the malarious districts. If taken occa sionally or daily while exposed to the infection. that will be excreted from the system, and cannot accumulate in sufficient quantity to ripen into dis ease. Hence it is even more rateable for protect tion than cure, and few wiH ever suffer from Inter mittents if they avail themselves of the protection this remedy affords. Prepared by Sr. J. C. C , 7th Feb., 1851. 1 Sir: I have used your Pills in my general and hospital practice ever rfnee you made them, and Cannot hesitate to say they are the best eatnartio we errmlov. Their rec-ulatinr action on the liver ia ' juick and decided, consequently they are an ad mirable remedy for derangements ot that organ. Indeed, I have seldom found a case of bilious dis ease so obstinate that it did not readily yield to them. Fraternally yours, ALOXZO BALL, SL L., Physician cfthe Marine Hospital. Dysentery, Diarrhaeay Relax, Worms From Dr. J. G. Green, of Chicago. Your Tills have had a long trial in my practice, and I hold them in esteem a one of tbe best aperi ents I have ever found. Their alterative effect upon the liver makes them an excellent remedy, when given in small doses for bilious dysentery and diar rhaa. Their sugar-coating makes them very ac ceptable and convenient for the use of women and eluldren. iYynpepsia, Imparity of tbe Blood. .From Bcv. J. V. IJimes, Pastor of Advent Church, Boston. Dr. Ater: I have used your Tills with extra ordinary success in my family and among those lam called to visit in distress. To regulate the organs of digestion and purify the blood, they are the very best remedy I have ever known, and I can confi dently recommend them to my friends. Yours, J. V. DIMES. Warsaw, Wyoming Co., N. Y., Oct. 24, 1S55. Dear Sir: I am using your Cathartic Tills in my practice, and find them an excellent purgative to cleanse the system and purify the fountains of tha blood. JOHN G. aiF.ACHAM, il. D. Coffatipaiiou, CeMireness, Snppression, ISbeamaiism, Goat, Neuralgia, Dropsy, Paralysis, Fits, etc. From Dr. J. P. Vaughn, Montreal, Canada. . Too much cannot be said of your Tills for the cure of cosireness. If others of our fraternity have found them as efficacious as I have, they should join me in proclaiming it, for the benefit of the multitudes who suffer from that complaint, which, although bad enough in itself, is the progenitor of others that are worse. I believe costiceness to originate in the liver, but your Tilla affect that organ and cure the disease. From Mrs. E. Stuart, Physician and Midwife, Boston. I find one or two large doses of your Fills, taken at the proper time, are excellent promotives of the natural secretion when wholly or partially sup pressed, and also very effectual to cleanse the stomach and expel worms. They are so much the best physic we hare that I recommend no other tor my patients. From the Rev. Dr. Eaicles, of the Methodist Epii; Church. TtlaSkI norjSE, Savannah, Ga., Jsn. 6, 1356. I1os6ke. Sir: 1 should be ungrateful lor tba relief your siiil has brought me if I did not report my case to you. A cola settled in my limbs and brought on excruciating neuralgic pains, which ended in chronic rheumatism. Notwithstanding I had the best of physicians, the disease grew worse and worse, until by the advice of your excellent pent in Baltimore, Dr. Mackenzie, I tried your 1111s. Their effects were siow, but sure. By per severing in tne use oi inem, a am now entirely weu. Sesate Cha VBKn. Baton Uonge, La., 6 Dec., 1S35. .
