DAVID SEIGEL, Erowwvilk-.JunelS, I561.-ly . ... . Scrofula, or King's Evil, is a constitutional disease, a corruption of the blood, by which- this fluid becomes vitiated, weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the w hole body, and may burst out in disease on any part of it. No organ is free, from it attacks, nor is there one which it may not destroy. The scrofulous taint 13 variously eauscd by mercurial disease, low living, dis ordered or unhealthy food, impure air, iilth and filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, above all, by the venereal infection. "What ever be its origin, it ia hereditary in the con stitution, descending from parents to children unto the tldrd and fourth generation ; " indeed, it seems to be the rod of llim who says, I will visit the iniquities of tlie fathers upon their children." Its effects eommence by deposition from the blood cf corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tubercles; ia the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor ruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitu tions not only suffer from scrofulous com plaints, but thoy have far less power to- with stand tlie attacks of other diseases t conse quently vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still rendered fatal by tliis taint in tlie system. Most of the consumption winch de cimates the human family has its origin directly in tins scrofulous contamination; and many, destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all - the organs, arise from or are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people rre srrofulo-'.:!! ; their persons are invaded by tl.is lurhij g in fection, and their health is u: .muted by it. To cleanse it from the ystrt wo mu.-t renovate the Liood by art alterative i..t ZJ.:.z, and invigorate- it by healthy fool ad exercise. Such a. medicine we supply in- AYERrS Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla, the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this every where prevailing and fatal malady. It is com bined from the most active remedials that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the system from its destructive consequences. Ilence it should be employed for the cure of not only Scrofula,- but also those other affec tions which arise from it, such as ErturrivE and Skin Diseases, St. Anthony's Fiue, ItOSE, Or EllYSU'ELAS, PlMM.ES, PCSTUI.ES, Blotches, Blaixs and BoiiXi'mous, Tetter and Salt Rheum, Scai.i Head, Ringworm, Rheumatism, Syphilitic and Mercurial Dfs KAsEsr Drotsy, Dyspepsia, Deiulity, a-:idy indeed, all Complaints arising from Vitia ted ok Impure Blood. The popular belief in impurity of the blood" is founded in truth, for scrofula is a degeneration of tlie blood. Tlie particular purpose and virtue of tliis Sarsapa rilla is to purify and regenerate this vital fluid, without which -sound health ia impossible in contaminated constitutions -Al"ER'S Ague Cure FOIt THE SPEEDY CURE Of . . .... Intermittent Fever, or Fever unci Ajrnf, Remittent Fever, Chill Fever,' Duinl Ague, Periodical TIeadaclie, or Billon Headache, and Billons Fevers, indeed for the whole class of diseases originat ing in biliary derangement, caused hy the Malaria of Miasmatic Countries. "We are enabled here to offer the comnntcity a remedy which, while it cures the above complaints with certainty, is still perfectly harmless m any quantity. Such a remedy ia invaluable in districts where these afflicting disorders prevail. This " Cure m expels the miasmatic poison of Feves and Ague from the system; and prevents the de velopment of the disease, if taken on the first ap proach of its preaionitory symptoms. . It is not only the best remedy ever yet discovered for this clasr of complaints, but also the cheapest. The larc;e quantity we supply for a' dollar brings it within the reach of every body ; and in bilious districts, where Fever and Ague prevails, every body should have it and use it freely both for cure and protec tion. A great superiority of this remedy over any other ever discovered-for the speedy and' certain' wire of Intermittoits is that it contains no Quinine' or mineral, consequently it produces no quinism or other injurious effects wi. clever upon the constitu tion. Those cured by it are left as healthy as if they hud never had the disease. . - 1 ever and Ague is not alone' the consequence of the miasmatic poison. ' A great variety of disor ders arise from its irritation, among which are' SeurcJfjkt, Rhctirtuitism, Govt, lleauUche, Blind-' ness, Tooihachc, Earache, Catarrh, Asthma, pal pitatian, Painful Affection of the Spleen, Hyster ics, Pain in the Bowels, Colic, Paralisis and -rmigement of the Stomach, all of which, when' originating in this cause, put on the intermittent type, or become periodicar. This " Cure " expels the poison from the blood, and consequently cures theni all alike. It is an invaluable protection to immigrant and persons travelling oc temporarily residing in the malarious districts. If taken occa sionally or daily while exposed to the infection, that wiU be excreted from the system, and cannot accumulate in suScient quantity to ripen into dis ease. Hence it is even more valuable for protec tion than cure, and few will ever suffer from Inter nsittents if they avail themselves of the protection thns remedy af.br is. Txczl Ij Er. ?.C.
