Kentucky has wheeled into the column of tbe loyal states, and casts, neutrality to the winds. The Union men of that Stat ardently desired to keep cfT the horrors of, war from their own soil, tut'ilacroffin, Breck inridge, Morehead and other traitors were secretly plotting like Claib Jackson Gov. But the vigilance of the Union men there has prevented such treason, and now her gallant sons are fast taking up arms for the Government under the lead of the gallant Hero cf Sumpter, Gen. Robert A. G Scrofula, or King's Evil, is a constitutional disease, a corruption of thff blood : bv which this fluid becomes vitiated, aSpoor. 'I in tho .circulation xt pervades the whole bod.r, an.l may burst out L disea.se cn any part of it. No organ xs free from its attacks, nor is there one which :t may not destroy. ' The scrofulous taint w variously caused by" mercurial disease, low livm-, dis ordered or unhealthy food, ' impure air, tutft and filthy Labits, tjie depre:sm- vices, and, above all, by the venereal infection. What ever be its origin, it is hereditary ni the con stitution, descending " front parents to children unto the third and fourth generation ; indeed, it seems to be the rod of IILni who fays "1 wUl visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children." Its effects commence by deposition frow tne blood of conupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal or-ans, is termed tubercles; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul cor ruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitu tions not only sutler trom scroium, iu;i: TO T IU-- tuseases ; quently vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not "scrofulous in their nature, are still rendered fatal by this taint in th3 system. Most of the consumption which de cimates the human family has its crig;i directly in this scrofulous contamination; and many destructive diseases of tha liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organ, arise from or are aggravated by the same cans?. 'One quarter of nil our people are scrofulous ; their persons are invaded by this lurking in action, and their health is undermined , by it. Hence it should be employed for the cure of not only Scrofula, but also those other affec tions which arisa from it, such as Eruptive and.Siux Diseases, St. Anthony's Fire, Rose, or Erysipeias, Pimples, Pustvies, Blotches, Plains and IJoit.s, Tumors;, Tetteu and Sait Rheum, Scald IIkais Ringworm, Rheumatism, Smutinc and Mi.ultkiai.
