regret to learn that the Steamer Hesperi
an, one of the most popular and elegant
boats in thiser upper trade, wastotaly de
stroyed by fire, while at Winthrop, oppo
site Atchison, on the night of the 20th.
The fire is thought to be the work cf in-
cendiary. Capt. Kerchival owned one
quarter of the boat, and was insured only
for 84,500. Value of boat 4-5,000.
