On motion, a Committee of five were appointed to select candidates for the PJattsmouth Convention, ' The Committee, after a few minutes consultation, reported the names of T. W. Tipton, from Brownville, D. C. San ders Nemaha City, Dr. Peery Peru, W. R. Leach Glenn Rock, and R. P. Ilutchius London, and recommend that the Convention elect them as Delegates to represent Nemaha County in the Platts mouth Convention. ; The report of the Committee was unanimously adopted. On motion, the delegates were instruc ted to cist their votes on every ballot, in the Territorial Convention, for S. G. Dai ly, as long as there was any hope of nom- inatinq: him. On motion, it was resolved that a Re publican Convention be held in Brown ville, on Saturday the 8th of September, to nominate Candidates for the Legisla ture. Some discussion toolc place as to wheth er the proposed Convention should be composed of delegates, or the people as semble cn mass, as heretofore. It was finally decided that the Convention should consist of delegates, to be apportioned as follows : Brownville and London, 9 ; Nemaha City, 7; Peru, 10; Glenn Rock,4; St. Frederick, 2; Shroafs Precinct 3; Long's Precinct, 2. It was recommended that meetings be held in each Precinct at any convenient time previous to the Slh of September, to select delegates to the County Conven tion.
