FAMILY PHYSIC.
There h long existed a public demand for an
effective purgative pill iviiidi could be rolled on as
urc and perfectly irfe in its operition. This Las
been prepared to ruret that dcnr.nd, arul aii exten
sive trial of its virtue has conclusively shorn with
what 8cce it accomplishes the purpose designed.
It is easy to make a physicil pi'l. but not easy to
make the Lent of all ;.' n.e which thouli have
none 01 the obifvlions, but all the advantages, of
very other. This has been nUemplod here, i.nd
with" what success we would respectfully submit to
the public decision. It has been unfortunate for
the patient hitherto that almost ccry p-irgative
medicine it acrimonious and irritatins to the bow
els. Tikis is not. Many of thrm produce so much
griping pain and revulsion in the system ns to more
than counterbalance the good to be derived front
them. These pills produce no irritation cr pain,
unless it ame from a preiomIy existing obstruc
tion or derangement in the bowels. T( ing purely
vegetable, no harm can arise from their use in any
cjn&ntity ; but it is Letter that any medicine should
be taken judiciously. Minute directions for their
use in the several diseases to which they are ex
plicable are i;ivcn on the box. Among the com
plaints which have been speedily cured by them, we
may mention I.iver Complaint, in its various forms
of Jaundice, Indigestion, Languor and Loss of Ap-
etite, ListjCGimess, Irritability, Li! ions Headache,
Ji'ious l ever, J ever and Aliio, Pain in the Side
and Loins; fr, in truth, all these are but the con
sequence of dixeacd net ion in the liver. As an
aperient they afford prompt and sure relief in Cos
tiveness. Piles, Colic. Ivscn?cry, Humors, Scrofula
and Sce.rvv, Colds with Korenc-s of the body, Ulcers
and impm'ity cf the blood, Inrgularitfcs; inlmrt,
any rr.a every esse where a purgative is reoiv'rcd.
They hae also produced son.c singnlarir sue
erssful cures in Rheumatism, Cout, Dropsy, Cravcl,
Prj-sipelas, Palpitat'en of the Jleait, Pains in the
Back, Stomach, and Side. They should be freely
taken in the spring of the year, to pirify the blood
and prepare the system fur the change of seasons.
An occasional dose stimulates the stomach and
bowels into healthy action, and restores the appe
tite and vigor. They purify the blood, and. by their
stimulant action on the circulatory system, reno
vate the utrnigth of the body, and restore the
vrastcd or diseased energies of the whole organism.
Hence an occasional dose is advantageous, even
though no serious derangement exists ; but un
necessary dosing bhould never bo carried too far,
as every purgative medicine reduces the strength,
when taken to excess. The thousand cases in winch
a physic is required cannot be enumerated here, but
they suggest themselves to the reason of every
body; and it is confidently believed this pdl will
answer a Letter purpose than any thing which has
hitherto been available -to mankind. When their
virtues are once known, the public will 110 longer
doubt what remedy to employ when in need of a
cathartic medicine. Being sugar-wrapped, they are
pleasant to take, and being purely egclablc, no
harm can sirise from their use in any quantity.

The Route from Brownville to the Mines is uni

others, to be superior in every respect. Brownville
is about midway between St. Jo. and Omaha. As
to distance, an examination of the map is all that
is necessary to prove to any one that it is nearer
