T)EING informed that certain parties are circuiat-

operate injuriously to the lown of Aemaba citj,
tis : That I am not the legal owner of the town site
that lhfcd on a former occasion sold it to other
parties and am now violating an agreement said to
tare been entered into between myself and the
parties, referred to and further, that suit has been
m Js about being brought to recover interests said
to be claimed bj these parties.
The whole affair is without any foundation what
ever. No agreement has ever been entered into be
tween mvseif and anr cartv or varties but what I am
prepared to faith full y fulfill. -The article referred to
above, is said to have been entered into sometime in
the Spring pf 1835, between myself g, F. Nuckolls,
a Mr. lSauard, a Air. Donavan, a ilr. yatt, a Air
I lull y and ethers, of whom I know nothing as I never
til but two or three of the gentlemen, or heard of
them except as connected with these flying rumors.
If my signature appears as a party in the article of
agreement said to exist it is forged, as it was sever
ttlaced there with my knowledge or consent.
If these gentlemen, have as they claim; any rights
to weperty in Acm&ha city, or diCerences witn me,
why do they not call on mo in person. I hate keen
informed that a person said to represent then Las
bees in this county on several occasions and t veni n
the Town of Nemaha city mating the assertions, re
f erred to, but has never made his business known to
zae. although I was in my residence and he but a few
rods distant. It is plain, I think, for any and every
one teste that the whole affair has been gotten up
toinjare the Town cf Nemaha city, or a ruse to secure
an interest tee rein. ' .
Thus" much I hsTe thought proper to say in this
public manner, and further to Anne-ance, that should
the parties referred to bring suit, I am prepared to
meet tnem.

new substantial and : commodious Ferry Boat,
run by Horse Power, wfiich. arrangement will secure
certain passage at, all times and in all kinds of
weather. The Proprietors do not assert boastingly,
or for the purpose of gaining custom merely, but are
governed ty facts, when they say this in the best
crossing of the -Missouri lviver in .aeonuKa, and
when they say the route from Brownvillo to fort
Kearney and from thence to California is the nearest,
for evidence they refer the reader to the map of the
Country; and are warranted in saying it is the most
practicable route by personal experience, as well as
that of hundreds of others who have traveled it.
We claim therefor that this crossing and r.ut e holds
out peculiarly, favorable inducements, to persons
going to California, and solicit their patronage. Not
withstanding our superior arrangements, for a safp
and speedy crossing, ourj.-hargea are the same us other
Ferries in Nebraska, all being regulated by Legisla
tive enactment. ' ' '
A skiff will be in readiness and a hanl on the
ground to run all hours of the night.
