I am much encouraged as to tho outlook for tho triumph of democracy at the coming election. Tho voices of a great many former sound money, honest dollar and honor of our governmert men, have through circumstances and exposure been stilled. Jno. R. Walsh at present is engaged in his own affair of (dis) honor; Bigelow of Milwaukee, is not Jna position to plead for tho great captains of industry and cry against tho common trouble as was his wont in 189G. Others are in Europe and others have gone to their final re ward (?). Tho great stewards of tho nation's honor and credit in 1896 have mostly come to an untimely as well as an undesirable end. Among the cheering multitudes of that hour not one remains so lowly as to do honor lo their memory. Sound money and confidence can no longer be the battle cry. Tho people are awake to their empty promises and this fall will cast their vote in renewal of their allegiance to the Declaration of Independence and the con stitution of their fathers, so mote it bo. Zuckriegel, Cleveland, Ohio. I am sorry to say that physical conditions bar me from doing any hustling, much as I would like to do so, .as I feel deeply interested in the cause. I conclude, howevor, that I might help along a little by treating sonic of my friends, for the holiday occa sion, to a doao of a year's subscription to The Commoner. 1 seloct republicans and send my chock to pay fqr tho four subscriptions a herein named.
